Neuromodulators are injectable treatments designed to soften dynamic wrinkles by relaxing targeted facial muscles responsible for repetitive movement. At Skinfocused, we use Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin meticulously and conservatively to achieve a rejuvenated appearance. This involves a thoughtful conversation with our physicians to align our aesthetic goals to achieve the desired result. While these products may reduce lines, the focus may also be on a softer, brighter appearance, while preserving natural expression and individuality. Our physicians place an emphasis on results with balance, subtle movement, and longevity.

Treatment selection is physician-directed and tailored to facial anatomy and muscle strength —because delicate differences matter.

How Neuromodulators Work

Neuromodulators temporarily reduce muscle contraction by blocking the nerve signals that drive repetitive movement. When carefully placed, this allows the overlying skin to smooth while maintaining natural facial motion.

Different formulations may vary slightly in diffusion, onset, and duration, allowing your physician to select the most appropriate option for each area and patient.

What Neuromodulators Treat

  • Frown lines between the brows

  • Forehead lines

  • Crow’s feet

  • Bunny lines and nasal wrinkles

  • Lip lines and chin dimpling

  • Neck bands (select patients)

  • Facial tension contributing to headaches or jaw clenching (select patients)

  • Prominent masseters

  • Chronic trapezius muscle tension or hypertrophy

  • Downward pull of the neck muscle (platysma)

  • Undereye skin crinkling

  • Excess underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis)

Neuromodulators may also be used preventatively to slow the development of etched lines over time.

Downtime & Results

Downtime is typically very minimal, with very rare bruising after an injection. Recommendations include deferring cardio exercise and laying down flat for about 3 to 4 hours. All normal activities may be resumed after that time.

Results begin to appear within several days, but the full effect is typically seen within 1 to 2 weeks. Results last approximately 3–4 months, depending on the product used and individual response. The goal is a rested, softened appearance that still looks like you.

Myobloc® for Resistant Patients

In certain patients who develop reduced responsiveness to traditional neuromodulators over time, Myobloc (botulinum toxin type B) may be considered. This alternative formulation can be effective for patients with neuromodulator resistance and is used selectively following physician evaluation.

The Skinfocused Approach

While many settings offer Botox or Dysport, this medical procedures depends on precise anatomical knowledge and clinical decision-making. In a physician-led practice, treatments are guided by a deeper level of anatomical expertise, diagnostic skill, and risk management. Each physician has had years of medical training, strictly adheres to safety standards, and understands how the face changes over time. Our physicians are guided by evidence-based medicine, not trends.
