Fraxel FTX Fractional Laser

Fraxel FTX is a non-ablative, fractional laser designed to improve sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines, texture, and acne and surgical scars—without removing the entire surface layer of skin. Using microscopic columns of laser energy, Fraxel precisely treats damaged skin while leaving surrounding skin intact to allow for more rapid healing.


What makes Fraxel FTX particularly versatile is its dual-wavelength technology. With both 1550 nm and 1927 nm wavelengths, our physicians can target different depths of the skin—and different concerns—during a customized treatment. Skinfocused's new and updated Fraxel model features a redesigned system which uses the proven dual-wavelength technology for greater precision, efficiency, and patient comfort.  This makes for better treatments for our patients.


How Fraxel FTX Works

Fraxel uses fractional laser technology to create thousands of microscopic treatment zones while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. These controlled areas of thermal injury stimulate the skin's natural healing response, promoting collagen remodeling and the replacement of damaged cells with healthier, fresher skin.


The 1550 nm wavelength penetrates more deeply into the dermis, where it stimulates collagen remodeling and addresses concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, texture, and acne and surgical scars.


The 1927 nm wavelength works more superficially and is particularly effective for addressing sun damage, freckles, age spots, and other unwanted pigmentation.


Depending on your skin and your goals, our physicians may recommend one wavelength or incorporate both into your treatment.

Downtime & Results

Immediately after treatment, redness, warmth, and swelling are expected. The sensation of heat is generally most noticeable for the first few hours. Over the next several days, the skin may feel dry or rough and develop a bronzed or "sandpaper-like" appearance as treated tissue works its way to the surface.


On the face, this renewal process generally begins within 3 to 4 days, with most patients completing the visible healing process within approximately 5 to 7 days. Treatment of areas off the face may require a longer recovery.


As the skin renews itself, tone and texture improve, while collagen remodeling continues over the following months. Depending on the concern being treated and the intensity of treatment, our physicians may recommend a single treatment or a series of treatments.
